Ingredients:

  • Water
  • 1.5 cups
  • Milk
  • 1 cup (full fat)
  • Tea Leaves (Danedar)
  • 2 tsp
  • Sugar
  • 2 tsp or to taste
  • Fresh Ginger
  • 1 inch piece, crushed
  • Green Cardamom
  • 3 pods, crushed
  • Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 small piece
  • Cloves
  • 2–3 whole
  • Black Pepper
  • 3–4 whole, crushed
  • Star Anise (optional)
  • 1 small piece

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Crush the spices: Lightly crush cardamom pods, black pepper, and ginger using a mortar and pestle or the back of a spoon. This releases the essential oils and intensifies the flavor.

Boil water with spices: Add water to a saucepan along with crushed ginger, cardamom, cinnamon stick, cloves, black pepper, and star anise. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Karak Chai

Mint Chai
